"Homage" Series: 1998-present The Homage series evolved as a means of reflecting on the influences I received from the many Native cultures of the American southwest. The unsanded, off-the-tool surfaces symbolize the textures of hand-worked adobe. The domed tops and recessed openings were inspired by Navajo bread ovens. And the lyric, graphic lines of the spalted wood symbolize the subtle intensity of the desert landscape with its meandering streams, silhouetted hills, shadows, crags, clouds and endless vistas.
